Learning at ISMT
The programme is designed in the context of the ever-evolving business world and through its contemporary syllabi aims to produce value added human resource needed to run a modern society. The learning pedagogy adopted by us will challenge, excite, and lead the students to dream big, sharpen their analytical skills and help them gain endurance to face the complex reality of life. They will learn to formulate strategies, but with an eye for detail to make it happen. It will enhance the much needed people skills to save the student from becoming a solo genius. The focus on business ethics and human values will enrich their ‘Aim of Life.’
OPERATION WORKOUTS
In order to supplement the theoretical knowledge with practical inputs, regular industrial exposure is required and this is given due importance at ISMT BS. Students are given small weekly corporate assignments known as “operation workouts” which help them to get practical knowledge of theoretical aspects.
INDUSTRY-INTERFACE CELL
Interaction with the Industry and Corporate is considered extremely important. The Corporate Resource Interface Cell (CRIC) has hence been set up which is proactively involved in creating an interface with the industry and is responsible for providing a platform for interaction between the Students and Managers in the industry.
The prime objective being:
- Maintaining regular interaction with the industry and organizing industrial training, visits, guest lectures, workshops and seminars to broaden the exposure of students.
- Providing requisite knowledge in the areas of personality mapping & communication skills
- Revising curriculum as per changing business requirements.
- Organizing inter-cultural exchange with other institutions.
- Identifying organizations where consultancy assignments can be taken up.
CASE STUDY AND CASE-LETS DISCUSSION
Unlike traditional lecture-based teaching where student participation in the classroom is minimal, the case method is an active learning method, which requires participation and involvement from the student in the classroom. For students who have been exposed only to the traditional teaching methods, this calls for a major change in their approach to learning. The team of ISMT BS is continuously engaged in case study discussions as well as in encouraging students to develop such cases.
SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
“If you have knowledge, let others light their candles from it.”
Quality, service and reliability are the mottos of ISMT BS, and to achieve the same, faculties regularly undertake corporate seminars.
The college also organizes workshops that help the students to assimilate the theoretical concepts learnt by putting them to use in simulated managerial environments. Some of the workshops conducted include Time Management, How To Cope Up With Stress, and Consumer Behavior.
